New Land Assets (NLA) and The Remenham Partnership has sold Shawfield Retail and Trade Park, pictured in Rutherglen for £6,037,500 to Shawfield Securities, part of Hamish Munro's Briar Hll Estates Group.

The deal is a reward for the refurbishment and rebranding of the property the partners bought for £2.4m in 2004, although there is expected to be firther growth due to the proximity to the M74 extension and Clyde Gateway initiative.

A delighted Angus Hamilton of NLA said: "We specialise in breathing new life into property and look forward to repeating the trick at our next Glasgow venture, City Park Industrial Estate on Alexandra Parade."

David Griggin of Griffin Webster, involved from start to finish, from acquisition to lettings (with King Struge) and disposal, said: "I love it when a plan comes together.

"We have left an angle or two for the pirchaser to improve his yield and I am sure he will also do well from the deal in the longer term."

This deal started after recognition that the investment market peaked. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." said Griffin.
